Wind Farm OperationsUpWind Solutions, Inc., the wind industry’s most comprehensive operations and maintenance (O&M) independent service provider, announced they have signed a long term O&M agreement for the Sand Bluff wind farm in West Texas, representing 90 MW of production. The wind farm is owned and operated by E.ON Climate & Renewables (EC&R) North America who selected UpWind Solutions to perform the O&M services on the 45 Gamesa G87 turbines.

UpWind offered EC&R a complete O&M package that not only included technicians on the ground but also 24/7 remote monitoring services and their latest real-time data analysis software UpWind Analytics™. The software will be used to optimize energy production and reduce maintenance expenses at Sand Bluff.

The Sand Bluff wind farm can power about 27,000 American homes while avoiding over 162,000 tons of carbon emissions annually. UpWind’s O&M experience with the Gamesa G87 turbines gives them insight to optimize the wind farm and generate optimum power while extending the life of each turbine. Operations begin on the 45 wind turbine farm September 1.
