San Diego - UpWind Solutions, Inc., the wind industry’s most comprehensive operations and maintenance (O&M) service provider, has installed Vortex Generator  (VG) technology at six of BP Wind Energy’s wholly-owned US wind farms:  Titan 1, in South Dakota; Edom Hills in California, Flat  Ridge 1 in Kansas; and Trinity Hills, Silver Star 1 and Sherbino 2 in Texas.  When several hundred VGs are installed on wind turbine blades, they can improve aerodynamic efficiency and can increase the power generated by the turbines.

UpWind Solutions, Inc., the wind industry’s leading third party provider of asset management operations and maintenance services (O&M) with 2.5+ GW in their fleet, announced they have signed O&M agreements for the Trinity Hills, Sherbino 2, and Silver Star 1 wind farms in Texas and the Flat Ridge 1 wind farm in Kansas, representing a combined 485 megawatts (MW) of production. The four wind farms are owned by wholly-owned subsidiaries of BP Wind Energy. The contract is for UpWind technicians to perform O&M services on a total of 194 Clipper C-93 and C-96 turbines.
